Plume is an extremely handsome fellow: he's a big cat, with soft honey-coloured fur and the most beautiful blue eyes. He arrived at the refuge six months ago and it was clear from the outset that he was not happy with his situation. He had to be confined to a small pen and was antagonistic to anyone who tried to change his food bowl or litter tray. But little by little his attitude mellowed; he was treated for a malfunction of the throat and began eating better. When he was eventually let out into the communal area he was totally unfazed by the other cats and very tolerant of the lively kittens, even letting favourites sleep with him in his basket.
One by one he has learned to trust the people looking after him and now is one of the friendliest and most affectionate cats in the refuge. But he still needs time to get to know new people and can have the occasional grumpy day, which is why he will only be rehomed to an experienced home with no young children.
Plume is four years old and is neutered, vaccinated and chipped. Despite his size he is not at all dominant with other cats and would probably also be OK with a calm and non-aggressive dog. Before he came to the refuge Plume lived on a farm and he really needs to have access to outside space again.
If Plume sounds like the cat for you, he's ready and waiting for your call! Please contact the Tarbes Nord refuge on 06 16 71 31 18 (French only).
