We are the proud fosterers of Lula Dot, an 11-year-old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, and Pickle Lilly, an 11-year-old Shih Tzu. They are both Lifetime Fosters. Lula has been with us for around 12 months, Pickle slightly less.

Our day normally starts around 7:30 am when they get chucked out into the garden to do their ‘ablutions’. As we have a large, secure garden, they love pottering about and going for a sniff. Breakfast is shortly afterwards, where Lula will sit and tell us to hurry up! whilst we’re preparing their grub, as she just cannot wait. She is so impatient but she is very funny! Whilst we’re doing our chores in the house and garden, Pickle normally follows us around, as she just wants to be with you and make sure she gets to clear up any dropped food! Lula generally has a little snooze to conserve her energy for upcoming cuddles!

I take them out to read the papers around the village a few times a week. It isn’t every day as Lula is a little plodder and Pickle is terrible on the lead. She has improved slightly but I’m not sure she’s been walked much and she tends to get under my feet. She’s nearly had me over a few times!

The dogs get on better and better as time goes on. At first, Pickle wasn’t sure about Lula, although they’ve never had a cross word and Lula just wants to be her best friend. They are hilarious when they play together now, mad as a box of frogs!

When it’s time for tea, we have the same, noisy rigmarole that happens at breakfast time! Afterwards, we all settle down for the evening, we have a dog each and they’re just happy to cuddle and chill out with their hoomans.

Although we are their fosterers, they will live out their last days with us here at home. Looking at their histories, they’ve both had multiple homes and we are committed to make their last days, their very best days. ❤️
