Kilo survived being shot in the face – now he needs a home

Found with a face full of buckshot and a broken jaw, two-year-old KILO was lucky to survive. Under the wing of LesAmis KILO was taken to a specialist vet who operated to repair his jaw.  It had to be literally glued into position and held firmly to allow it to heal.  Obviously he could not feed normally so a tube was inserted in his throat through which this long-suffering boy could be fed. He was also unable to groom himself which was very difficult for him.  His foster Mum had to take on that role.

Three months followed while his jaw mended so that he would be able to eat normally again.  After a potentially very serious setback when the area round his feeding tube became badly infected, Kilo made yet another amazing recovery: the tube has now been removed, the aperture has been stitched up and his stitches taken out.  He is now able to be a normal cat again.  He feeds normally and has a very good appetite!

This is what his foster Mum says about him:

To his huge credit, KILO has remained cheerful and loving throughout his ordeal and is probably the cuddliest cat in France!

KILO is FIV positive, and so despite being a very laid back cat, unlikely to cause a rumpus anywhere, we recommend a life as a sole cat.  He is however unperturbed by dogs – he has been with 6 in the household – and has shown no interest whatsoever in them.   KILO is quite a vocal cat and revels in attention and claiming lap time.

KILO is currently in foster in Department 24 (Dordogne) but we will help him travel to join his new family elsewhere in France.  If you could give Kilo’s traumatic journey the happy ending he deserves then please contact us.
