He came to us as “Mutley” but he’s far from a “Mutley” and so now he’s

ARTHUR – and a more endearing soul you could not wish to meet. 

In his foster family he is known as ARTHUR AND HIS DOUDOU for he’s only rarely without a toy of some sort in his mouth.

ARTHUR has not had much luck . . . he lost his Mum, his Dad’s life changed, he had to move, and now at the age of 10 he’s having to find a new home.  He has just moved to our “Halfway Paws” foster pension so that we could get to know him better and write this profile.  He’s settling like the charming mature boy he is.  He is mixing with a wide range of other dogs, and lives in a busy household and he’s taking it all in his stride.  The thing he loves most is a toy such as a rope, soft toy, or indeed anything that takes his fancy (that he is allowed of course – as an older soul he’s not at all “naughty”!!).

ARTHUR is joining in the daily routine of walks, play and rest time and has taken to it like a duck to water.  So far he is on a longline and walks beautifully on it.  Not yet running free on their land is mainly because he is hard of hearing.  We do not believe he is totallly deaf, he certainly hears loud noises.  So experiments are taking place to find out what sort of pitches he can hear and we go from there.  He’s a bit of a cat chaser – but stops with a very loud “no” – very loud because his hearing is not the best.  On the other hand he is completely ok with horses.
