[socialicons]Please meet AUDE who has been abandoned at the Refuge with which we work.
Amazingly she is only 8 months old so still very much a puppy. Sadly we think her puppyhood has probably passed her by and expectations of her have disappointed – which has resulted in a very very confused, scared and lost wee soul. She certainly doesn’t know what it is to be loved and cherished in a family of her own.
AUDE is scared, not of other dogs because she knows them, but of humans who have not been very kind to her. Thus her journey to living comfortably among humans she can trust will take some time. Most thankfully she will never make a chasse dog but with kindness, patience and gentle slow learning opportunities she will become a most loving and devoted pet to one very lucky family.
Of greatest importance is to get her out of the refuge environment where she spends most of her time in her kennel despite being away from the main noisiest area. There are not sufficient staff to be able to give her the experience on a minute by minute, day by day basis of being a dog in a human environment. There is not sufficient opportunity for her to associate a stroke with kindness and give her confidence that there is no more cruelty. So we are looking for anyone who loves to help an animal in need, how loves a hound, and who has the time and patience she needs to grow and build her trust. As with most ill-treated hounds there is not a hint of aggression, but there is the glimmer of wanting to trust, wanting to try.
