Spread the word

Despite being a “proper” breed, BASKY’s life has been far from what his “posh” name – Lucky des Hauts de St Sevret – would indicate.  In fact it’s been a bit of a rocky one. He was neglected in his early life though not mistreated.   He has been passed from pillar to post and even now, though he is loved, his situation is not what is best for him. His needs are managed but he needs more than an owner who is out all day at work and who has very little time to dedicate to him, and a landlady who kindly walks him twice a day.

He has never had the joy of the sort of stable life that would suit him the best, and it is time he had that chance. Having spent a few months in the home of a behaviourist he has most of the basics , but the truth is he has never ever had a “master” in his life to show him the way! And now we are endeavouring to help change all that.

So while BASKY is indeed a 4 year old, full-bred Weimaraner, he is a dog who needs some work, to help him become the dog we know he can be. He needs someone who is either familiar with the breed or is an aficionado, someone with time and patience to build his understanding of what his required, build his confidence and allow him to realise that there is more to life than he has been able to experience so far.

He does have quite a few good things going for him:

  • A great temperament
  • Good with people (a bit clingy)
  • OK dogs
  • OK cats
  • OK chickens
  • Clean in the home
  • OK on lead
  • Fully vaccinated including passport
  • Sterilised

If you love this breed, have the experience to give him the best possible life, and are wiling to invest your time and energy in him, knowing it could take a few months to unpick, re-learn and then consolidate to make him the absolutely fine dog he could be . . . .

BASKY is currently in Department 24 (Dordogne), and can be adopted anywhere in France or beyond, subject to a very successful home check.  If you would like to know more about BASKY, you can:
