GUS has been in foster for just a few weeks where he has been recovering from a severe case of neglect and malnutrition.  When found he was so weak that he could not even stand to pee or to eat.  He had to spend a couple of nights hospitalised as his readings were so low that it was touch and go whether he would survive.

But survive he did and so he moved into a foster home where he was on a road to building sufficient strength that he could stand for a reasonable length of time, do his needs without difficulty and eat to benefit his body, not so fast it did not touch the sides.

Now his coat is coming back beautifully, GUS has put on weight and is alert and aware of what is going on around him.  He is ready to move on to his next home – foster or foster with view to adoption – so that he can build muscle and tone now that he is well enough to undergo this sort of activity.  His current foster Mum is herself limited physically and cannot carry out that part of his care.

We are looking for a foster home where GUS can be coached back to fitness.  A family that can help him follow a programme of training – walks, running, learning – as well as receiving the love and attention on which he thrives.
