JAMIE : IN TRIAL ADOPTION

JAMIE was “The Puppy Who Refused to Give Up” having come to us from being the last of a young litter to be captured and brought to safety when their errant mother had given birth to them.   This little lad survived against all odds fending for himself for 48 hours – and amazed all of us when he was found alive.

Now he’s grown into a truly handsome and delightful young adult, having just passed his first birthday.   JAMIE is recorded in ICAD as a Berger X but has perhaps more of the collie than anything in him.  Although the most traumatised of all members of his litter, he is now truly ready to join his forever family.   He is undoubtedly intelligent and biddable, and is still learning about the world around him.  As with all the litter who had known “stranger danger” when just a few weeks old, there is an inherent wariness at first when faced with something or someone new.   All his siblings have found families who understand and are working with them to continue to develop their confidence at their own pace.   JAMIE needs exactly the same – but so far they have not popped up on our radar screen.  We shall be delighted the day they do, and they will wonder why they did not see him for who he is before.  We know that with patience, understanding and kindness, that wonderful dog who continues to emerge will bring daily joy to that family.

JAMIE absolutely adores head scratches, ear rubs and spending time with his people.  He is even dealing with the “turbulent teens” really well – only the occasional boundary push and stubborn streak!!  Indeed his foster Mum describes him as
