KENY is a stunningly handsome and kind five year old fine-boned lab X (he weighs in at only 17 kg!) who is still looking for either a foster home or, even better, a family to call his very own.

KENY has been in kennels for a while waiting his chance.  There he has come on leaps and bounds.   It would appear he has not really known any consistency or affection before.  Now he has a much better idea what it is all about with some fantastic behavioural changes in him.   He remains a highly affectionate dog – he seems to smile when a human appears, such is his delight.   However he is not super needy and settles back down in his pen once his turn for walks and running is over.

Essential to his move to his forever family will be

• a regular routine,
• start off with some basic bonding training,
• a family that can be consistent about his learning and development.

KENY is everything people love about Labradors: full of life, affectionate and always ready for an adventure. He loves long walks, exploring every scent along the way, and makes every outing fun. He knows his basic commands, including sit and recall, although the world is such an exciting place that he sometimes gets distracted by all the interesting sights and smells!

During his time in the pension he has been kennelled alongside males as well as females and has had no serious reactions to them.  Out and about he ignores other dogs.  Happy to sit in a cafe or bar with you and watch the world go by.  He’s recently had an 8 month old male puppy as a playmate and they have got on well together.  So the signs are that with the correct sort of introduction as for any dogs that do not know each other, he would be absolutely fine.  Even his attention to cats has lessened though he probably would choose to chase given half the chance.   He is obviously great with humans including children.

He absolutely adores people and his whole face lights up when he sees you, and a wagging tail is guaranteed. He loves playing with his toys, enjoys being busy, and has so much love and happiness to give. All he needs now is someone to give him the chance he so deserves. Kennels are no place for a dog like Keny. Imagine how much he’ll flourish with a sofa to curl up on, someone to walk beside, and a family to love.

So KENY’s wishlist:

• loving active family who will take him on long sniffathon walks
• somewhere to play and run around in safety
• a place to call his own – bed, sofa – he won’t mind
• a nice supply of food and snacks – he works hard for those
• a family who will love him for the rest of his life.
