UPDATE:  MALLOW is moving into foster!

Please meet the most unusual and distinguished boy called MALLOW.  Said to be German Shorthaired Pointer x Labrador – this boy is stunning to look at, remarkable coat colouring, and delightful in temperament seeking strokes and cuddles.

UPDATE ON MALLOW: We recently moved Mallow to a pension environment as to our huge surprise there had been no interest at alll in helping this boy.   And it was a good move.  One of our members who lives in the same village is giving him some of life experiences that he needs and she is already blown away by the inside and outside beauty of this boy.  Click on the video below for the visuals!

This report is after just her first encounter with him:

What a fabulous dog Mallow is! The previous photo really didn’t do justice to his amazing colouring — he is such a strikingly handsome boy. Like many dogs, he’s very excited when he first gets out, but once he’s on his walk, he is an absolute joy. He’s bright, eager to please and very quick to learn. He’s already starting to respond to commands and is settling in really well with the other dogs. Mallow has a strong interest in hunting and loves using his nose and exploring his surroundings. He’s an active, intelligent boy who will have so much fun with a family who can give him plenty of walks, stimulation and adventures. He really is a lovely dog with so much potential.

What does Mallow need? 

Ideally the chance to join his forever home with a family wanting to travel his development journey with him, or a foster family eager to help him get there.  This means a place where he can

  • learn about living in a home;
  • get some game-based training under his belt;
  • experience a bit more of life in the human world . . .
  • and some general socialisation to bring him to adoptability.

His medical needs to get him adopt ready have largely been attended to:  he is sterilised, his vaccination programme is underway, and he will have regular deparasite treatments.

So our priority is finding the family  (adoptive or foster) that can truly help him experience some new things, be comfortable in new surroundings, and generally learn the routine of the human world. .
