Please meet the lovely NED, a 4 year old full-bred English Pointer.

Sadly NED was taken to the Refuge with which we work in a bit of a poor state.   It transpired that he had been bitten by a snake on one of his back paws several months ago which has not healed and is now infected. It is likely that the owners found the cost of the vet bills a burden and could not face the possibility of him needing to have his paw amputated.  Whilst this remains a last resort  possibility, he is now in a wonderful foster home and under the care of a specialist vet who is doing all possible to avoid such an eventuality.   NED is getting buckets full of love and proving that he’s a cracking wee lad – great with people and with dogs.  He has not yet been tested with cats.  Eventually – once we have his paw sorted, he will be looking for his forever family.

His foster family say this about him:

He is the sweetest dog I have ever met. He just wants cuddles all the time.

At night he goes straight into his crate and not a sound until the morning.

For all his treatments so far NED has been nothing but compliant.  Not an ounce of aggression, not shy or retiring – apparently just grateful we are trying to help him.
