Please meet OHM, a delightful 8 year old Weimaraner

This poor lad seems to have been passed around a bit, ending up not wanted because “it was discovered” that he neither was interested hunting, nor could he be used for reproduction as he had been sterilised.  Unbelievable!!

At the moment he is in the refuge with which we work and we have been asked to try and find a break for him – to bring him that good luck he so truly deserves.   We understand that he is successfully penned with female dogs with no problems at all.  He has not been penned with males but it is noted that he is not at all reactive to male dogs on walks so we feel with the right introductions, as with any same sex meetings, there’s no reason to think it would not work.

Weimaraners, like most of the best known Hunt Point Retrieve breeds, make good family pets, are very affectionate, loyal and form strong bonds with their owners. They are often called ‘velcro’ dogs as they want to stay close to you. They are also known to be great with children – gentle and playful – as well as super smart and eager to learn.

OHM is currently an unknown to us at the moment so we are looking for a foster family or a family to foster him with a view to adoption – where we can get to know him better, see what he’s made of and bring out the best in him.
