Please meet PAN, a gorgeous 6 year old Labrador X (maybe with some Beauceron in the mix) who hasn’t had a much luck in his life to date.

He has a massive heart and is full of potential, and sadly has never truly had the real chance to just be a dog and live an amazing life. For much of his young years, he was shut away in an apartment, untrained and overlooked and had to learn how to stay safe because no-one had his back.  Since coming under the wings of Les Amis, he has learned a great deal and it has taken time.  He has had many opportunities to learn, to become much more the dog that he is capable of being.   He is however a special case looking for that special, experienced person who will understand him fully.

PAN is special and needs something that we very rarely say . . . he needs a master/mistress and not a friend.   This does not mean a harsh person but it does mean someone who makes it clear to him what is and what is not required; who trains with consistency, praise and understanding; who knows how to ensure that Pan’s confusion as to his role in life is kept to an absolute minimum, zero if possible.  So, an understanding owner who will guide and support him and set boundaries so that he can truly become the dog he deserves to be.  We have never seen the limits of what Pan’s potential is.  We think that in the right hands he will surprise everyone.

PAN is special because he is a:

• Fast learner and eager to please – he responds beautifully to treats and guidance.
• Clean and well-mannered in the home – he knows his basic commands and settles well.
• An adventurous spirit – he loves the countryside, mountains, and is a natural swimmer who adores water.
• A good traveller – calm and relaxed on the road, happy to join you on new adventures.
• Sociable in public – he has visited markets and cafés, always showing calm, polite behaviour when in calm and assured hands.

Pan is alert, clever, and active, so he’s looking for a family to match his energy and intelligence. He thrives with gentle, consistent leadership and will reward you with loyalty and love.

He needs a clear one person in his life in any given family, together with:

• A secure garden where he can run and play freely.
• Continuation of his guided training and development.
• A home without cats or other livestock, as he simply doesn’t understand them.
• No competition for attention from other dogs – he’s a 200% sort of boy (though probably would not say “no” to an wise lady!).
• A patient calm family who understands that the use of a muzzle in public places gives Pan confidence and reduces his trigger level to react when surprised.

PAN has never known a true forever home, but despite his difficult start, he has shown resilience, joy, and an eagerness to learn. He has already come so far – with the right person by his side, he will become the wonderful companion he was always meant to be.

His current foster family say this about him:

He needs consistent rules and boundaries and once he loves you, he respects what you say and is a really lovely boy. He sits, gives a paw on command and is learning to sit and wait by an open door.
