PRINCESS is an affectionate little girl who is still very much a puppy.
Her life we can only surmise has not been too good so far. We were alerted to her plight by the refuge who picked her up with what was clearly a broken leg. Probably a car. X-rays showed a multiple fracture and very near the knee joint. This meant specialist orthpaedic treatment to be followed by crate rest. Not only that, her tail at some point has been callously docked. Her leg, with appropriate and careful after-care, will make a full recovery and life will be good from now on.
Since going into foster she has been loving and affectionate – grateful for the care she has received. She looks to her human constantly and seeks their company in a confident sort of way.
For many dogs who have been through this trauma and suddenly feel better, it is difficult to keep them down, and now that Princesse is feeling better she is no exception! She would love to jump and run free as the wind (which she does very well on three legs!) The cone of shame became redundant on the first night and she has made absolutely no attempt to damage the dressing. She does, however, not enjoy her crate-rest!!!
It is very early days for her in foster, and even now it is clear that she is going to make a wonderful dog for an active family. She is very clean despite her current infirmity, a real smooch always eager for tummy tickles but equally eager for an opportunity to be outside. She will doubtless enjoy long walks and play in a large garden once she is healed. At the moment her foster Mum thinks she’d have been better called Imelda Marcos as she has a shoe collecting (not damaging) fetish!
PRINCESS is currently fostered in Department 81 (Tarn) but is available for adoption anywhere in France subject to a successful home check. If you would like to know more about PRINCESS, have the opportunity to meet her either virtually or in reality, you can:
