Meet puppy RUSTY!  Full of the joys of spaniel and setter joys of spring!

New into foster and still a puppy with lots to learn, here is an early report from Rusty’s foster mum:

“He is doing really well. Most of the time he comes to his name.  And he’s very curious about new things in the home!  He loves the mirror, he can obviously see how handsome he is but he loves staring at me through it too. You can almost see the brain working!

Food is definitely his favourite thing, a close 2nd is a squeaky duck and chasing a tennis ball. He sleeps all night. He is not a lover of the crate but we are working on that.

He chased the cats alot to start but we just started to notice a difference; he is much calmer when he sees them. He doesn’t chase them straight away or jump up to get them but he does get fixated on them and will go stiff and won’t listen when you call. After a while he comes out of that wagging his tail and he will follow me as if nothing has happened.  In other words – early stages of learning.

He is eating well and I can see he has gained some weight. His bones were protruding but now we have a little coverage.
He is really good with my little boy and super gentle but he does jump up, again it is getting better. Treats and lots and lots of praise is working. We have done lots of long walks and he is brilliant on the lead.

He is a really gorgeous dog, and has come on loads in a short space of time.”
