Enquire about SHANELLE : ADOPTED!

Spread the word

You could be forgiven for wondering which end was which when SHANELLE was found hiding under a bush covered in mange, her eyes severely infected, and an injured rear leg.  One of the photos says it all.

Immediately taken under our wing, the first thing was to tackle her skin problem and help relieve her eyes with veterinary care.  SHANELLE stayed with her rescuer (who could not fosterer her for any length of time) until she was no longer contagious.

Once with her new foster family SHANELLE has received the most loving of care and has blossomed both in health and in confidence.   Her fear of the world and what it might do to her has disappeared virtually completely.   She has been given the space, time and patience she needed, and now is a very happy little girl.  Sadly nothing could be done for her leg despite specialist consultation.   Because it was just a dead weight she was carrying around, she has now had it amputated and is doing incredibly well.   She has been walking on three legs for so long  that it is just a question of her getting used to the new weight distribution. . .  and this is not taking her long at all.

As soon as SHANELLE has the all clear from her consultant orthopaedic vet, she will be ready for adoption.  We would be glad to hear from you if you think you could provide that forever home in the longer term for this lovely tripod girlie:
