PLEASE MEET SUPER STAR SIENNA  who can resist those soulful eyes?   SIENNA has amazed us with her growing trust and gentleness.  And now it is time to start our determined search for SIENNA’s forever home.

Her beautiful little plump puppies are approaching 5 weeks old and her interests have begun to turn more towards what is outside the whelping box. This is perfectly normal and healthy behaviour.

What we know about SIENNA is pretty limited and based on vet view rather than known history.  She is estimated to be about 3 years old, finely built (19kg) and looks like a rough coated (griffon coat) border collie type. She is fast, strong and enthusiastic for life, with that typical collie intensity.  She has accepted home-living, learned about walks, and above all she has learned that humans can be kind.

This is what her foster Mum says about her:

She shows all the signs of being a very loyal dog and wants to be with her person. She happily sits at my feet and will stay there for as long as I am there. And as soon as I go to get her lead she is keen and bouncing around, but sits patiently when it’s time to attach the lead to her collar. There are still lots of unknowns about Sienna but from what I have seen having fostered her over the past four and a half weeks she has everything to become an amazing dog.

Little is known about her history. She was rescued living on a balcony with very little shade in the heatwaves of this summer.   It was not realised when taken to safety that she was in whelp and surprised everyone when she gave birth to her pups the very next day.  It was at this stage that we were asked to take her under our wing.

As one would expect she was firecely devoted to her babies in their most vulnerable of states and showed herself to be an excellent Mum.   For the last couple of weeks she’s been much more willing to leave the whelping box and it would appear that she has not seen much of the wider world.   However she is curious and enthusiastic about everything she meets and seems to be a quick learner.

SIENNA will still need to be sterilised when her body is in good post-maternal state but this will not prevent her joining her forever home.  It will be funded by us.   We feel that within the next 2/3 weeks she will be ready join her forever family and start to enjoy the sort of life she truly deserves.
