Please meet the wonderful little STRIDER – now fully recovered from his broken leg surgery and in full rehabilitation . . . nothing stops this little lad.  He is guaranteed to light up your life and make you smile every day – he is such a sunny little character.

STRIDER is a full orange belton English Setter – left at just a few weeks old at a vets because he had broken his leg and so he was taken to be put down.  Thankfully that did not happen – the vet refused and he was picked up by the refuge with which we work, had the work done on his leg and then moved immediately into rehab foster care where he has been looked after, entertained, carried around to get some variety in his life and little by little walking more . . . .  even hydrotherapy . . . . and now he is ready to find his forever home.

From the photos you can see the progress he has made, the natural growth that has happened and that he is at a stage where he should be for his young age.  Episodes of noisy play followed by period of sleep with the odd few minutes of training play thrown in.  He is pretty much house trained which is a real bonus!  It’s clear even here that there has been excellent healing of the injury and no further problems are expected.

STRIDER is currently with his foster Mum in Department 86 (Vienne).  We would love to find him a setter-loving home – people who admire the elegance of the breed, value their natural traits, and understand their training and developmental needs.  This is far more important than location.
