TEDDY has just been brought into a home for the first time after a life chained outdoors. Not surprisingly he was initially literally making his mark! But already after just a few days he is learning and only feels the need to mark when a strange dog enters ‘his’ territory. Otherwise he is already clean in the house, day and night.
TEDDY has had his medical MOT, needs a wee heart check prior to sterilisation, sports a brand new chip with his name on it, and was a total star with the vet.
What we thought were cataracts turn out to be ulcers that have never been treated or keratitis. His vision is impaired but he is in no apparent discomfort.
TEDDY is a red, standard smooth Dachshund and is already proving that he is an affectionate boy who loves people and gets on well with other dogs. Initially he was rather too interested in cats, but now seems to be co-existing quite peaceably with them – perhaps a breed trait, perhaps a question of familiarisation. What his fosterer is discovering is that this boy, who we cannot say has been well treated in his past, does not appear to have a bad bone in his body and is loving the opportunity to run, explore in a garden and just “be” in the warmth of a home. His recall both in and outdoors is excellent.
While TEDDY is not quite yet adopt-ready, we would be interested to hear from anyone interested in giving this boy a home, as we do not think it will take very long. You can:
