[socialicons]Calling all English Pointer lovers and introducing 4 year old lemon TOSCANE who was rejected ‘because she does not hunt’ and therefore abandoned at the Refuge with which we work. Now safely under the wings of Les Amis, we are looking for her forever family.
TOSCANE has been able to benefit from moving into a pension environment where she has settled beautifully and is being assessed and developed by one of our members who lives in the same village. This process has started and what a surprising report came our way:
What a lovely surprise this girl is! As a chien de chasse, I expected Toscane to be more difficult to settle and perhaps less used to everyday human contact. But she has been absolutely wonderful. She was so easy from the start. After a good walk in the countryside, I brought her home to meet my dog and then took her into the local town. Nothing seemed to faze her. She was quiet and beautifully behaved sitting in the café, and she was friendly and comfortable meeting both male and female dogs. She was a little reluctant to get into a strange car, but once in, she travelled exceptionally well.
As yet she has no apparent vocabulary and therefore no training as such but her first responses are positive and hopeful. She also has a skin condition which is being treated.
She is on the smaller side for an English pointer and makes up for it with her wonderful fun temperament and is very affectionate. We are looking for either a foster home or an experienced home with a trial adoption so that her development can continue.
