These are the everyday stories of abandoned souls. These are decisions we have to make every day. Without funds, we cannot be their voice.
Small monthly donations collectively make a difference, and one-off donations are welcome too. With your help, we can continue giving each animal what they need.

SWEET PEA
Sweet Pea came to us as a tiny tot of a puppy, full of character but clearly badly deformed spine and back end. We lived in hope that something could be done to help her once grown. Several specialist visits to monitor her growth pattern showed her condition is a birth defect and the operations she would face would neither guarantee success on her mobility, nor her quality of life. She’s currently being assessed in a foster home to see how well she can manage in a real life environment. We’ll look after her for as long as needed. Investigations so far have cost us: €600+

HOWDY AKA SAM
Sadness from a family – wife dying and husband suffering too – no longer possible to keep . . . a darling soul who we’ve discovered is FIV positive which limits our abilities to find him a home as there is so much prejudice and misinformation around. He’s 6 years old, incredibly well, very loving and now has the shiniest of teeth! He just needs to live as an indoor, only cat. Not because he wants to, but as a “just in case”. He has known the outdoors – which makes it even harder so anyone with a catio would be a real boon for him. Treatments: €200 but what price can be put on fear and prejudice . . . and the consequent blocking of a foster home? STOP PRESS!! Sam has an offer of a home!

HECTOR
This handsome hound was found in a dreadful state apparently abandoned in a park. He was rushed by the kind Samaritan who found him to a vets. He had an enormous open wound on his back from which the remains of sutures were dangling. The wound was impossible to stitch leaving a huge raw area with very high risk of infection setting in. Amazingly there were no vets in the area who knew of him or what had happened to him. As soon as he could he came into our care. He’s had to have very regular vet visits for dressing changes, targeted antibiotics, and, now in what might prove to be his permanent home, he is having some leading edge treatment which will finally bring him to full health. Costs to us to date: €800+ – not to mention the hours and hours of care cleaning, dressing and re-dressing by his fosterers.
