Hello everyone – Charlotte here, though my friends call me “Little Miss Sunshine” and I think that suits me just fine!
I’m a Welsh terrier cross, almost 15 years young. Don’t let my age fool you—I’m forever a pup at heart, full of personality, plenty of opinions, and a little bit of wisdom that comes with the passage of time.
My journey has been filled with kindness in recent times, even though I don’t know much about what came before. What I do know is that the wonderful people at Les Amis des Animaux found me loving care when I needed it most. My first lifetime foster family welcomed me with open arms and warm hearts. When my dear mum became too unwell to look after me properly, Les Amis stepped in again for both of us, finding me a new, loving home. That’s how – over two years ago – I came to live with my big brothers and sisters and a family that truly feels like mine.
I’m gentle and easygoing, though I have my own strong opinions—especially when it comes to food! Nothing makes my tail wag faster than a homemade meal prepared with love. Sunny (but cool) days are my favourite for running and exploring, but if the weather is cold or rainy, you’ll find me happily curled up inside. Thanks to the puppy pads kindly provided by Les Amis, I keep my home clean and my dignity intact, no matter what the weather’s like outside.
After arriving here, the kind vets removed a small lump I had, and I live very well with a partially collapsed trachea and an enlarged heart – sometimes that means an occasional cough, but it doesn’t slow me down at all. I’m deaf now, though don’t worry—I’m neither blind nor silent. I still have my voice and love to set my big brothers and sisters howling with my high-pitched bark, just for fun. I get around with my sharp senses and big heart. The care and love provided by Les Amis and my family keep me feeling happy and healthy every day.
Now, about photos—I’m a little camera shy! I usually turn away or hide just before the snap, though there are a few sneaky pictures that show a content and dignified little lady.
Some might call me a lifetime fosterling, but I like to think of myself as an eternal pup—young at heart, full of opinions, and wise from a life well-lived. I’m always happy to welcome new friends when they come for short stays, gently guiding them and sharing the warmth and comfort of my home.
