Nelly has been in her forever home for a year now, and no one seemed to know about her background, I picked her up and she barked all the way home, she still does it now when we go to the vet or the toilette, may be a case of she doesn’t like the car.
She settled in from the minute she arrived she was on my lap, and on the bed at night, which is not a problem as she only weighs 6 kg. She is not a good eater, and will not touch dog food, dry or tinned so I cook her chicken, mince beef , mixed veg and rice. However, sometimes she will not eat, mostly in the morning, but her weight is OK so I don’t worry.
She likes to sleep in and doesn’t come for a walk with us in the morning, but loves an afternoon stroll.
Her and my other foster Rosy get on well together now after a bit of a shakey start, but Rosy follows her lead.
I love her to bits, and she is a lovely little girl, as fit as a flea, and I think she will be around until she is at least 17.
Rosy, who is 13 years old, came to me a couple of months after Nelly. The story was that the son of the owner got a dog, and it kept on having a go at Rosy, and because of that she is now a bit reactive, but not too bad. She suffer with bad arthritis, mostly in her front legs. To help with her discomfort, I have got her on cbd oil, and flexiden chews, which I pay for myself. She is definitely better than she was, but still has her bad days, we just have three short walks a day. She loves to be out and about, and we go in the cafe every morning for coffee, where she loves to go to everyone for a fuss. She is a lovely, gentle little girl.
