2024 started off in typically busy style. In the first six months of the year, we have taken in 151 dogs and cats and as at the first of July, we were caring for 139 dogs and 59 cats.
Of those, we have 99 dogs and cats in Lifetime Foster, that we will look after for the rest of their lives…
Yes most of us would agree it is possible – but I’m not talking here about an old dog, I’m talking about an “old” person – me! Been in dogs for over 40 years and learnt loads and loads along the way having tried many aspects of dogdom . . . obedience, agility, gundog training, showing, judging, breeding . . . so pretty much steeped you might say!!

We recognise that as an association we are somewhat different – bold, risk-taking – and have a strong commitment that we do all we can for an animal to remain in the best state of health we can get – whether curative or palliative care – until that is no longer possible. This means that there are several occasions when we use the services of specialist vets. Fortunately they are increasing in number and paralleling much more with the human world of general practice and specialist referrals.
