Les Amis des Animaux has a policy of helping all cats and dogs as much as we can. Some of the decisions which have to be taken are very difficult but, we feel, necessary to better their lives. Things such as amputating a limb or replacing hips or emergency treatments for unexpected illnesses.
Like a lot of us, as animals grow older, their systems are sometimes more open to infections and, unless treated immediately and efficiently, these can lead to a decline in health very quickly.
Our long- or life-time fosterers are our saviours. They give medicines, clean and dress wounds, go backwards and forwards to Vets (sometimes quite a long trip for a specialist Vet), pass sleepless nights worrying and/or comforting and generally undergo quite a lot of stressful times with these older souls in their care. Some make special food and treats which is way above and beyond.

No – neither can we. This is the amount for Life-time foster dogs and cats.
These are the costs so far this year – that is this year up to 29th June 2024 – NOT A WHOLE YEAR – so just 181 days so far!
Just them – not all the others in foster that need operations, sterilisation, care and consideration.
Just this week (8th July 2024) we had an emergency case of Pyrometra (life-threatening if not treated quickly) with one of our LTF’s – a bill of 800,00 €.
These sort of things happen all the time. Yes we make special appeals when needed but the LTF dogs and cats are here – non-stop – every day.
We can’t possibly budget for sudden illnesses or infections – they just need to be dealt with.
SO PLEASE – CONSIDER A DONATION
We have 6300 or so members of our Facebook group – that is an amazing amount. Just imagine if only 10% of you gave 2€ per month – – that would give us 1260 € PER MONTH!
